I’ll never stop loving trench coats. I purchased one a few years ago for a trip to San Francisco and I’ve learned a lot from that particular coat. What I have been quick to understand is that a lot of trench coats are built larger (for layering) so you have to understand how to wear it properly based on what your goals are. For us here in So Cal, we don’t need to layer as much so a thinner more flexible trench is something more appealing. While I can still layer it makes it a lot easier to maneuver since we aren’t basing the look on staying warm (more like dry on the off chance it rains here). Anyway, this particular trench coat from River Island features some contrast paneling with (of course) a plaid print. I also am ready to add this large faux pearl embellished shirt into my regular rotation. My final piece from River Island on this look are these amazing pointed toe flats that feature a fuzzy strap. These little babies are surprisingly comfortable and are very flattering on the foot. I have already worn them a handful of time with various looks!
