Spring has sprung, if only for a few days. I have recently partnered up with Tobi to take spring looks from day to night. I have a fairly busy schedule; working full time, spending time with family, dealing with life responsibilities (ugh grocery shopping), having a social life and on top of that running my blog makes choosing outfits challenging at times. The two outfits featured here I’m a big fan of wearing during the upcoming warm California days that I can easily transition to grabbing tacos and happy hour drinks with some of my friends or husband without feeling too “office” like. Now I have to admit, this isn’t something that would be appropriate in the slightest at a traditional office like environment BUT this is a great look that you can wear during the day to grab lunch and go shopping while also being able to transition to bar hopping or grabbing drinks with friends.
There’s something about printed mini skirts that are so easy to wear, are feminine, and can easily be paired with a simple bodysuit and a basket bag. I also never thought I’d feel sexy in a shorts suit but throwing on a SUPER cropped top with the set makes it a lot more flattering. Best part is that you can easily button up the suit jacket and make it a little more appropriate depending on the situation. Tobi is a shop I’ve frequented since my college days that has always had the perfect evening dress wear and swimsuits. The best part is that it has always been affordable.
It’s funny to think how my style transitions from day to day. When people ask me how I’d describe it I honestly can’t say that I can. I always go back to the name of my blog “Unconscious” style because my style really is an unconscious decision when I get up everyday. One moment I can be inspired by a high fashion look, the next day I”ll want to be edgy, and the following day you’ll find me in a floral dress and vibrant coat. I recently went to get a pair of pants tailored by an amazing seamstress I met and she mentioned to me, “hey you posted this outfit earlier, so you mean to say you actually wear the outfits that you post?”. I think sometimes as a blogger you are hit with some stereotypes. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely have days where I need to shoot multiple looks for the sake of my schedule but I’ve always been so passionate about getting dressed in the morning. Even when I am just going to sit in my same office chair for 8 hours, sometimes without even going outside, I want to feel good in what I’m wearing. Not to mention, when I post an outfit on my Instagram 9 times out of 10 I’m wearing that look the entire day, no switching to sweatpants until after dinner. That being said, I love that I can wear a super high fashion look one day and the next day be in something as simple and cute as the looks I’m featuring today. My biggest hope for this platform as well as Instagram is that people can find inspiration to push the boundaries of their comfort levels while also feeling they can relate to what I’m presenting here on my blog. There’s nothing better than hearing you’ve inspired someone to try something new and they ended up loving the result. And for that, I have to thank all of my readers.
