It’s slowly creeping into Summer, and I mean SLOWLY because it’s been overcast the past few days and I don’t really know what to do with myself. I was really drawn to this summer printed blouse from River Island that makes me really long for a European getaway. I also am feeling some major 70s inspiration alongside this new chain belt I just picked up as well. It’s really a simple piece you can pair with jeans and a white t-shirt to make a little bit of a statement. I also threw on a pair of colored mules and a clear handbag to pull the entire look together. As I’ve mentioned previously, I work full-time, blog part-time, and have my little family as well. It’s been a challenge learning how to balance life and everything that gets thrown at you. Making sure you have enough time to cook “healthy” meals, go to yoga at least twice a week, spend time with friends you haven’t seen, spend time with your husband and pup, all while trying to maintain growing your passion/business on the side. One of my favorite things to do is plan out vacations. It’s the one way I can ensure that I’m able to get a little “me” time with my family while getting out there in the world. I used to be one to only take around 1 or 2 vacations a year since everything else seems to get in the way. Lately I’m trying to explore more around my own backyard and areas that are only a few hours away and easily accessible by car so I can slowly increase that number. It also helps when you don’t have to overspend on trips with airfare and hotel rooms if you are able to make them only a single night or weekend trip. Here are a few of my travel destinations for this year that I’m really looking forward to plus some of my dream destinations. There’s nothing more enjoyable than planning vacations you can’t really afford nor take time for but hey I’m a dreamer 🙂
June – Malibu or San Diego
July – San Diego, Comic Con
August – Grand Canyon / Sedona, Vacation & Sightseeing
September – New York, Fashion Week
September – Paris, Fashion Week (dream)
October – Hawaii, Birthday Vacation
November – New York, Thanksgiving (dream)
I also really want to take a European vacation coming up but it’s always the challenge of time, money, and honestly if my anxious body can feel comfortable with who I’m traveling with and where we are going. I also am really looking forward to taking a future trip to either Asia or Australia (ideally both) but the long flight kind of has me backpedaling a bit. I usually try to stick to planning one larger trip a year (at least four nights and requires a plan for travel) but other than that throwing in some smaller trips that you can either drive to or take a short plane trip to are the trips that keep me sane. I have recently had such a big influx of Wanderlust in the past years once I really started picking up the travel bug and it’s become something I can easily obsess about. Leaving the monotony of day to day life and being able to get inspired and fully immerse yourself in a new environment is intoxicating so I have to remind myself that it will all come in due time. It also makes the vacations I plan a lot more special knowing I took the time to choose that specific trip/location knowing I only have so much time and money to spare for it. I easily get wrapped up (as some of us do) in social media following world traveling bloggers who get to experience this life on the daily. While it seems glamorous, I know it’s not always, and I have to respect the fact that they can live out of a suitcase for months on end and having to constantly jump into new situations on the daily. Basically moral of the story, find new ways to explore if you aren’t able to travel as easily, taking a 2 hour adventure is just as exhilarating as hopping on a plane to an exotic location (well, sometimes haha).
