Summer solstice in a yellow dress. How lucky was I to just happen to pick out this dress to wear on the first day of Summer. It seems like summer has already been here for a few weeks but it’s always refreshing to know it’s officially arrived. It’s a time where I really want to embrace being outside, getting out of my comfort zone and really being present. It’s not always easy, but I’ve been getting through a lot of mental blocks when it comes to where I want to move towards in life. My husband mentioned that last summer seemed to fly by and he didn’t really take advantage of exploring his hobbies or us traveling and I definitely can agree.

Going back to this look, it’s really the easy going look and feel of this dress that makes me love it so much. The cut is super feminine and I love how much the color pops. I wanted to get a little more creative when it came to my photos as well. Luckily I have a great group of friends that are always willing to give me a hand. We jumped out during lunch to get a few shots and I really felt this look was something to wear out to a picnic so, we had a little picnic ourselves! Sometimes I really miss just sitting on the grass and even though we were focusing on shooting, it was really nice to have my little French Bulldog nephew Pickett running around like a little nut and getting a few shots with him in it. I have to remind myself how lucky I really am to be surrounded by such wonderful people and places.
