It’s no doubt that there’s someone in your life that provides more of a challenge when it comes to gift giving over the Holidays. I’ve rounded up some of my recommendations for those individuals on a more generic scale to help with the shopping process that will be ramping up in the next few weeks! Don’t worry, I’ve also included myself considering I’m one of the more challenging individuals to shop for. Ultimately I’m the type of person to buy something if I really want it and I don’t wait around, if I have the funds and can make it happen I’ll do it. So with that being said, a lot of friends and family will see me like something and the next day I have it in hand so it definitely makes it a bigger challenge when it comes to getting me something. What I enjoy the most however when it comes to gifts is experiences. Going to a new coffee shop and grabbing breakfast, going to a museum, having an afternoon at a theme park, those are the kind of gifts that are my absolute favorite. The areas I’m focusing on today are women’s stocking stuffers (often forgotten by men at least in my experiences that can be really fun and easy especially for those who are on a budget! How cute would it be to just exchange stockings with your S.O?), a mens gift guide, and of course the parent gift guide (which I’m still having challenges with to this day haha)
Women’s Stocking Stuffer Gift Ideas
Not everyone does stockings nor do I think they are always necessary, BUT I do love the idea of a few small little gifts as a method of “gifting” this holiday season and especially being able to either make or get a cute stocking as part of the gift just makes it even better. I’ve always had a stocking as a kid but I noticed my husband has a harder time figuring out little things to fill my stocking with. I pulled together a list above of items I think would be fun if you did a little stocking exchange with your significant other (I think my sister is actually doing this with her bf). Basic skincare is definitely an easy gift but also harder for those who aren’t super adept to skincare or your routine. I put in the Summer Friday’s Jetlag mask as well as my favorite Caudalie essence spray that are simple and effective pieces that most people will enjoy. Socks are also something I love receiving since for the most part we always need them! Cute ones that maybe have your favorite characters on them or food are always fun as well and a fun gift especially for guys to shop for. Lastly, candles and fun earrings are great to throw in along with tech items like an external phone charger or phone case!
Mens Gift Guide
My husband is an avid fisher and outdoorsman for the most part so it makes for gift giving a challenge considering I have to ask him most of the time what he’s looking for! In that case I like to mix up what I get him with a few items off his “wish list” and then a few items I pick out myself. I always like to focus on things the other person wouldn’t buy. Since he would most likely buy himself any fishing materials he might need I like to focus on things like tools, clothing, shoes, video games, etc. Hopefully he doesn’t read this haha. My husband is a fan of video games and with the Nintendo Classic & Playstation original coming back out wit preloaded games I’m assuming most of my readers have brothers/significant others or other family members who also grew up with these game consoles and would get a ton of nostalgia from getting these. My other go-to is sneakers, I always get my husband a new pair for Christmas and it’s almost turned into an annual thing haha. Since he won’t normally “splurge” on sneakers (I say that lightly because to me it’s not that much) I like to get him a new pair for Christmas and retire his ones from the year before. Aside from that he has a new obsession with all of the new Stance products that include their underwear and t-shirt line. I’ve never seen someone so excited for new underwear haha but hey if girls get excited for it why can’t guys! Last but not least one of my favorite things to get is an experience, whether this person likes traveling, sports, or shows, its fun to get someone an experience for the Holidays that you can do together.
Mom Gifts
My mom is very similar to me, she gets herself whatever she wants and usually doesn’t wait around to be “gifted” something she likes. Also most of the things she wants are wildly out of both of our price ranges haha. For my mom she luckily loves skincare and makeup and is always willing to try new things! When it comes to gifting her for the Holidays I stick to a few things I know she will love and appreciate.
Dad Gifts
Like moms, dads also seem to have everything they need and if they don’t it’s very specific things they don’t wait around for Christmas to acquire. I always like to lean more towards tech or gadgets for my dad as well as things that they might need like a duffel bag or cologne, and of course to top it off something fun and nostalgic like an old video game or something fun along those lines.
