I love writing these particular posts out because for a long time this is the exact kind of content I would look for whilst online. I was always looking for new up and coming shops that had different pieces I couldn’t find elsewhere. With how big Instagram has become it’s slightly lessened for myself but I still am such a fan of sharing what shops are currently inspiring me!
We are creeping into resort season and for the longest time that didn’t always resonate with me considering when you work full time there really aren’t any “seasons” you come across. But now working for myself and actually being able to get outside every so often I understand why people create these collections. Also for myself, I’m heading to Hawaii for the first time in May and there’s nothing I want more than to create a really wearable resort wear closet. A lot of these brands I’ve known about for the past year or so and/or they are totally new brands I’ve come across recently. I love coming across any new brand that inspires me and a lot of times it just depends on the kind of pieces I’m really looking forward to in that particular point in my life. It’s interesting to see how my preferences have changed and I’m kind of back to trying to find the newest, the latest and the greatest when it comes to designers. As always of course I also take into consideration price points. For these brands I feel it’s completely fair for really great pieces you’d have in your closets for awhile. I have also been trying to be better about having pieces in my closet that I wear constantly, that are my bases that I can push off from to create new inspiring looks. I go through phases of getting a lot of basics and neutrals and then feel like I’m somewhat in a funk. After that phase I usually bounce into going for super out there trendy and in the moment pieces. I’m trying to find the perfect balance of fun and different but with pieces that I won’t get sick of after a month or so. It’s an ongoing process but I’m enjoying the small collection I’m building.
This brand has been around for awhile now but I recently really became attracted to their swim line as I’ve been searching high and low for the perfect swimwear for my upcoming Hawaii trip. Their swim sets consist of natural silhouettes and their focus on neutral basics are perfect for any stunning resort style vacation you have planned.
A fellow ‘Instagrammer’ caught my eye with a handbag she had. After a little snooping I found out it was by a new brand Margi Gaba. I have been loving the smaller 90s “baguette” style bags and this one looked like a perfect fit when it came down to simplicity of design, texture and color of the handbag. Not to mention the price point which was $180 ish US dollars. I immediately purchased it and actually got expedited shipping so I can hopefully have it for my upcoming NY trip as well as Hawaii.
I was instantly drawn to With Jean’s dresses and blouses that had a unique Parisian country side look and feel to them. I can already imagine hitting up the farmers markets in these beautiful pieces. For Spring and Summer the shops I’m most drawn to have to be ones that have their hero designs (maybe 5 or so) that they produce in various fabrics/prints per season. I get overwhelmed when I get to websites that have too many options, plus in my eyes a company that focuses on a few really killer silhouettes know what they are doing and you can tell from the fan photos that their blouses and dresses look gorgeous on a multitude of women.
This is another brand I’ve had my eyes on for awhile and have a lot of respect for. If you are looking to update your closet and really focus on functional, chic, and effortless pieces I’d go with Sezane in a heartbeat. These are pieces for the modern woman and are meant to last. These are the kind of wardrobe basics your closet should be based on!
Talk about another majorly inspiring collection, the Line by K is an absolute favorite of mine for it’s sexy silhouettes and perfectly structured pieces. These are the kind of staple pieces that you can throw on and just look good in no matter how you style it. Every dress is perfectly fitted to accentuate all curves and as mentioned, so easy to style whether you throw on jeans with one of their tops or strappy sandals with one of the dresses. This is the perfect site for finding resort wear that is simple yet effective.
If you want sexy, carefree, effortless pieces that are, yes, thats right, inexpensive this is where you need to come! Aussie’s just do it right and know how to perfect the simple and sexy of style. Throw on any of these pieces with a little 90s inspired handbag and some strappy heeled sandals and you are ready for day, night, dinner, shopping, whatever it might be.
This is a brand I’ve been over the moon about lately. Their designs, mood, just everything is so on point with where my style has landed as of late. From perfect trouseres to classic coats and jackets to fun graphic t-shirts. I could easily wear this brand year round. With mostly neutral focuses with random pops of color I’m excited to explore Les Coyotes De Paris more as Spring approaches!
