It’s the end of the year and instead of doing a gift guide (because honestly my gifts this year felt more personal and honestly the Holidays CREPT up on me too quickly) I figured I’d just chat about some of my favorite trends that have hit towards the end of this year and how I want to start off the New Year strong with these particular pieces.
Silver Jewelry
There was this influx in the past 5 years of gold jewelry really taking precedent. I know we all had that rose gold phase as well but predominantly it has been gold gold and more gold. It’s fun to see trends transition not only from fashion but also more detailed pieces like our jewelry. Aside from swapping minimal rings for large signet styles I’ve been seeing a bigger influx of Silver jewels. From chain necklaces to chunky rings there are so many cool new silver pieces coming up. Personally I love to mix and match gold and silver pieces but having more predominant silver in my life has made my looks feel edgier and perfect for winter cool tones.
Lug Sole Combat Boots
The Row, Bottega Veneta, Louis Vuitton and more have been dabbling into the chunky sole combat boot game. While these are a bit of a pretty penny it’s nice to see more inexpensive options showing up on the scene. Pairing a good skinny jean with a chunky boot is the perfect fall/winter look paired with a long coat, slicked hair bun and chunky sunglasses. Basically it’s the ultimate “off duty” model look that’s also super comfortable and perfect for winter weather.
A Good Sweatsuit
I never thought I’d say it but sweatsuits are a THING right now. I’ve been seeing them everywhere and gotta say I’m included in the whole “trend” of wearing a sweatsuit out in public. I think with all of the above trends mixed in with a plain grey sweatsuit you are expected to have this just rolled out of the house but still looking extremely chic with my accessory game energy. Who would have thought that a sweatsuit worn outside would be considered “cool girl” at this point. I listed a few of my favorites above that are not only the comfiest they actually look chic worn with a cool jacket, boots or sneakers and jewelry.
Luxe Clutch Bags
The Bottega Veneta pouch is still going strong but there are a ton of new contenders on the market that I think need some recognition. I have stumbled upon some gorgeous clutch bags that just give off a great effortless look with any look. On the plus, they also make the perfect prop for a flatlay or simplistic “bag shot” since they have a little structure and are usually shaped perfectly to be set down on a table (unlike a lot of other bags).
