There has been a huge trend in colored eyeshadow as of late. It’s nothing new for beauty gurus who have been pushing the limits for awhile now but it’s becoming more and more of a regular beauty routine for those of us who don’t qualify quite yet as a “guru”. I’ve worked in the beauty industry so I was constantly aware of beauty trends and hot new looks that were popping up. While I always really admired these looks I knew personally I could never achieve these nor could I wear these with the right confidence as these lovely ladies did.
During quarantine we have all been taking our time to figure out what makes us happy. For some it’s working out, some is getting creative with work, learning or expanding skills or honestly just relaxing and doing nothing. For myself, I’ve been flip flopping around with my creativity, some days really getting inspired and others have been spent on the couch in sweatpants rewatching seasons of Supernatural. That being said, I have also started to dabble more in getting creative with my makeup looks. One of my favorite ways to dress up my eyes has been just a straightforward all over shadow. During the holidays I stuck to glitters and shimmers and now for Spring I’ve loved playing with pastels and highly pigmented primary colors.
I wanted to do a little round up of some of my colored eyeshadow favorites I’ve seen when it comes to creating colorful lids that are not only easy to use but are buildable if you are really trying to push the envelope. I can’t wait to keep exploring with colored shadows and maybe even try a little artwork on my lids! It’s definitely more challenging based on your eye shape and eyelid but that’s the fun with these things, you can play and explore at your own pace. There really are no rules when you are stuck at home during quarantine!
